Sounds Like San Diego: September 25

Legendary singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt is returning to San Diego to a sold out show on Tuesday at Humphreys Concerts By the Bay.

Touring behind Slipstream, her 2012 release that is her first studio album since 2005, the artist is garnering widespread praise from fans and critics alike. This is a hot ticket, but if you don't have an in, there's plenty of other great music around town that should keep some pep in your step.

Down at the Casbah, the second night of the Staring at the Sun release party features We Are Sirens, Roni Lee and more, and the show and accompanying 44-track compilation are free. Soda Bar features Love Henry at the top of their lineup, while Della Della hit the stage at the Tin Can.

Of course, you can always just plan an early night downtown at the House of Blues where Cathryn Beeks hosts her weekly "Local Brews, Local Grooves" night, which is also free and will expose you to some of San Diego's up-and-coming talent.
