There is a certain feeling of cool you get when you've discovered something new. There are times when you see a band and are just convinced that they are going to break and be the next big thing. For Oberhofer, it isn't really fair to say, since they were playing at FM 94/9's Independence Jam in September, which is evidence enough that they're well on their way to greatness. Still, there is a point of pride when you feel like you saw a band back when. On Wednesday at House of Blues, they'll probably only have a short set as they open for Matt & Kim -- amazing on their own and the headliners for the night -- but still, I'm going to the show to see Oberhofer confirm in my heart, mind and mostly my ears that they are the next great thing. You can decide for yourselves. This is an all-ages show, tickets are still available and I hear they'll take the stage by 7:30 p.m. See them now so you won't kick yourself later.
