We're halfway to the weekend, and my, oh, my, has this week been full of musical treats. Wednesday is no exception, as tours large and small pass through San Diego. At the House of Blues, A.F.I. will rock the sold-out crowd hard, while Gilbrere Forte brings hip-hop grooves to Soda Bar. At the Casbah, Hanni el Khatib will have the hip kids in a frenzy, while over at Viejas Arena, the ladies will show that they, too, can rock hard, with Paramore and Metric sharing the stage. I haven't quite decided which show is my calling, but it is certainly awesome to have so many choices to celebrate the diversity of the music scene in the eighth largest city in the country. If we're a sleepy town during other times of the year, we can certainly argue that is just not true on this night.
