The Lonely Gone Wild

After seeing their monstrous new video for "Buried in the Murder," we decided to meet the Lonely Wild at a safe place -- the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center at Balboa Park to be exact -- to chat about their January Soda Bar residency and their haunting, indie folk-pop.

Tuesday night brings tough choices. The Casbah has put together a stellar local lineup, with Manuok, the Midnight Pine and the Beautiful View; while Soda Bar hosts the final night of the Lonely Wild's residency (see our interview here). Some other SoundDiego writers and I had the chance to catch the show last week, and the vocal are stunning, the music dramatic and the performance reminds me of other indie orchestral bands like Other Lives and Fleet Foxes. Both shows will certainly be worth your while and definitely help you out of any Tuesday night glut you might be feeling.

Tuesday, Jan. 28:

  • The Lonely Wild, the Whiskey Circle, Adams & Eves @ Soda Bar (see our interview with the Lonely Wild here)
  • The Beautiful View, the Midnight Pine, Manuok @ Casbah
  • Tiki Tuesday, featuring Craig Prior @ Bar Pink
