It has been a couple weeks since the San Diego Music Awards, but why not celebrate anyway? The Blackout Party took home the statue for Best Local Recording for their release, Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed, and they've lined up some great support for their show at the Casbah on Wednesday. Deadly Birds features guys you've seen in bands before, most notably CJ Gladstone from Roses On Her Grave. The Steelwells are also on the bill and I have to tell you that, after seeing them last week at Soda Bar, you don't want to miss them. Finally, Crash & the Burns make their Casbah debut, though you may know them as Bully, featuring former members of Dirty Sweet. So there you go, a night of dirty rock & roll for you. If all of that doesn't tickle your fancy, the legendary Old 97's return to rock out at the Belly Up with Those Darlins and an opening acoustic set from Rhett Miller. That means you get two sets of Rhett, which sounds pretty heavenly to me.
