Taste of Moon Honey

Let's be honest. There are a lot of music venues in San Diego, but sometimes they go dark on Monday, so when Soda Bar, Belly Up, House of Blues, Music Box, and Observatory are all dark, it can be slim pickings. Fortunately, the night isn't without live music: Electric Waste Band play every Monday and Humphrey's Backstage is almost never dark -- tonight, they host Michele Lundeen -- but we've got our indie shows around, too. It might seem Wheelchair Sports Camp is not the most politically correct-named act around, unless you know that Denver rapper Kayln is wheelchair-bound herself and that the project literally started at a Wheelchair Sports Camp. Meanwhile at the Casbah, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the dreamy and lush sounds of Moon Honey will fill the room, making you believe Glinda the good witch is in your new favorite band.
