Sometimes I forget how much and for how long I've loved certain musicians. In this case, I looked through my music collection to find that I have all of Damien Jurado's albums, and I've spent a great time catching up on them through this rainy weekend. His latest release, Maraqopa, follows in his signature style, with his distinct voice gently grazing his quiet music, but for the uninitiated, this might be the most accessible and a good starting point because the record is slightly more uptempo than previous albums. With Peter Wolf Crier and All Tiny Creatures opening, this is a solid lineup, and you should be able to get tickets at the door. For those of you looking for something more rocking, the Frail perform at Bar Pink.
