RSVP NOW! SoundDiego LIVE 5/1 at the Hideout!

Join us May 1 at the Hideout for a FREE show with three great bands!

We took a month off to regroup, but SoundDiego LIVE is coming back on May 1 on the Boulevard!

Yep, that’s right: For our next installment of our FREE monthly live-music bash, we'll be holing up  between Normal Heights and North Park at the Hideout on El Cajon Boulevard, at a party hosted by 91x's Robin Roth.

Who's headlining, you might be wondering? Well, wonder no more: The New Kinetics! The local garage pop band with a huge retro sound straight out of the '60s is back after a too-long hiatus with a new EP and a new bass player, Joshua Kmak (from the NFormals). It'll be thrilling to see them take the stage again and if there's one thing we're sure of: They'll get your body moving.

"Many San Diegans (including myself) were surprised when the New Kinetics announced last year that the band was no more. Their last few shows in town were sold-out, frenzied testaments to their high-energy garage rock bravado. So when we got word they had reunited, we jumped at the opportunity to snatch them up for our next SoundDiego LIVE at the Hideout! We couldn’t be more thrilled to have them back."

Not only will we have the New Kinetics tearing it up, we'll be featuring Hit Dog Hollar.

"The Hit Dog Hollar boys were born and raised in San Diego, and word is they've been working on their debut album," Roth said. "You can't go wrong with with a band that stomps the blues and a night of Jack Daniels."

In addition, our Garage 2 Glory competition is back! The Pheasants and Badabing will both be slugging it out online before one of them emerges victorious and lands a spot on the show. The Pheasants, an energetic garage-rock duo, are known for dressing in outlandish costumes before taking stages with equally wild songs. Badabing, another rock duo (we're sensing a theme here), go in a different musical direction, consisting of only drums and bass. Unsurprisingly, they've got an intriguing, unique sound. We're big fans of both -- who will you choose? Of course, oour sponsor Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey will, naturally, be hosting a happy hour before the show begins.

To help you enjoy that happy hour, we're proud to remind you we've partnered with Uber, which will be on site the night of the party for a safe-drive-home service. All customers new to Uber will be able to get a $20 credit on site toward their first ride, and if they're already an Uber customer, they can get a $7 credit toward their ride home from SoundDiego LIVE that night.

So go ahead, San Diego, and make the right call – go big at SoundDiego LIVE on May 1 at the Hideout: RSVP here now!
