La Ley return to San Diego in July.

Give praise to the Latin-alternative music gods because July is blazing with rock-solid global acts. Last Friday, July 10, kicked off with the fierce Jessica Hernandez (read my SoundDiego article on her), a Mexican-Cuban American armed with a guitar and the soulfulness of Amy Winehouse. If you missed her and her band, be sure to see make it when they come back to town.

And be still our hearts, La Ley make a “re-tour” to House of Blues at the end of the month. La Ley frontman Beto Cuevas is music’s Pierce Brosnan. At 47 years old and as a proud dad, he’s cutting-edge hot.

Barrio Logan’s native son Councilmember David Alvarez and his wife, Xochitl, will be happy to hear that Argentina’s Enanitos Verdes will be be at House of Blues, surely to rock the couple's favorite song, “Luz de Dia.” True story! Read here.
“Repeat After Me…” Los Amigos Invisibles guarantee an all-night dance adventure that will deliver a sweaty good time. The Venezuelan funksters combine the best in Latin music with an incredible amount of skill that sort of give a Brand New Heavies and Soul II Soul a la Latino sonic-oh!
