A wedding, a taco shop and a hospital -- just three of 25 San Diego locales that Jon Foreman will hit, guitar in hand, over the course of 24 hours this weekend.
It’s all part of the Switchfoot frontman’s Wonderlands solo project: 25 songs released over a series of four EPs that represent different periods of the day. It began with “Sunlight” in May and culminates with “Dawn,” which drops on Oct. 23 -- the day before Foreman’s marathon of micro-shows begins at 11 a.m.
The kicker? We won’t know where -- or when -- these shows take place. Foreman is confirming just three sets beforehand, each one at the new Bro-Am Studios in Encinitas (see below for specific times). Word is that he’ll tease them out via social media the day of, but some of the shows are going to be left to mystery altogether. Foreman’s team has also confirmed stops at “taco shops, his favorite rock clubs [and] his high school alma mater.” While most of the three-song shows (and tickets to them) will be available to the public, a few are private, including a wedding -- which Foreman joked with SoundDiego about back in May when we interviewed him about the project -- and a performance for patients at Rady’s Children’s Hospital.
One additional caveat that may interest Foreman super fans: Purchase the VIP package online and you’re privy to a detailed schedule of events and access to all shows plus all sorts of goodies, like a T-shirt, lanyard, the EP boxset, a signed poster and more. It’ll set you back $500, but hey, it’s for a good cause -- all proceeds benefit the Bro-Am Foundation. That's a day well spent.
