Weezer once again joins the lineup for the Del Mar Concert Series this summer.
Summer is here, and it’s once again time to unveil the lineup for this year’s Del Mar Concert Series. In traditional fashion, the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will showcase a number of red-hot live acts throughout July and August.
The series will kick off with a performance by New Wave stars the B-52s on July 19. The month will be rounded out by appearances from soul-pop group Fitz & the Tantrums and former Van Halen frontman project Sammy Hagar & the Wabos on July 26-27.
August hosts a list of heavy hitters as well, including a homecoming show for San Diego indie-rockers Pinback and the always-anticipated annual demonstration by power pop royalty Weezer on Aug. 8 and Aug. 17.
The summer will be rounded out by Reggae Fest, which will be headlined by Ziggy Marley on Aug. 31. Other reggae acts to look out for are Iration on Aug. 2 and Steel Pulse on Aug. 16.
Make sure to mark your calendar, as this year’s lineup looks to have something to offer fans of all persuasions. The concerts commence after the last races of the day. Admission is typically free for race patrons, but you'll still be able to attend for a reasonable price if you were late to the gate.
