A year ago it looked like Carey Mulligan would star and Jodie Foster would direct Wentworth Miller's vampire script. Four months ago it appeared that Colin Firth would star... scrap all that.

Matthew Goode is negotiating to land the lead role in "Stoker," reported Variety. The film, which will co-star Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman, is to be the English-language debut of "Old Boy" director Chan-wook Park.

Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender star in the latest retelling of Charlotte Brontë's classic tale of a poor young woman and her dangerous relationship with a wealthy man.

The script by Miller, best known for his part on "Prison Break," which made the 2010 Blacklist tells the story of how “After the death of her father, a teenager must deal with a mysterious uncle who returns to spend time with the family.”

Even without Firth, it's an impressive cast. Goode has quietly been doing great work in films like "A Single Man," "Match Point" "Leap Year," and "The Lookout," while both Wasikowska and Kidman are coming off strong performances in "Jane Eyre" and "Rabbit Hole," respectively.
