Big Balloons Float Into Town

It's the most wonderful time of the year to enjoy a parade

For the few people fortunate enough to have the week off for the holidays, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a parade.

The Port of San Diego will be hosting its annual Balloon Parade on Dec. 28 starting at 10 a.m. along North Harbor Drive.

Floats the size of small vehicles will make their way across the scenic route, along with marching bands and drill teams. A parade route map provides details of the best places to see the massive balloons.

After the parade the Big Bay Family Festival will take place. Kids can enjoy carnival-style games or check out the Game Truck complete with video games. The Battle of the University Bands will provide the tunes and entertainment during the festival.

About 100,000 people are expected to attend the popular event, so make sure to get there early.
