Who knew that the creator of one of the most popular series in the history of MTV launched his career at UC San Diego?
Mike Judge of Beavis and Butthead fame attended the university from 1980 to 1985 and majored in physics. Since then he's launched cult films and TV shows such as "Office Space," and "King of the Hill".
Now, he's been named the keynote speaker at his alma mater for the All Campus Graduation Celebration, June 12 according to UC San Diego's Christine Clark.
The event will give graduation students at the six colleges and alumni an opportunity to commemorate graduation in a large-scale celebration.
“We look forward to having a UC San Diego alumnus as speaker who is so well-known and multi-talented,” said Sarah Chang, co-chair of All Campus Graduation Celebration. “Mike Judge represents how diversely creative and successful UC San Diego alumni and students are."
Judge's new film "Extract," starring Ben Affleck and Jason Bateman, is expected to be released this fall.
