Stay Out of Her Wake

Who says action sports are for guys? Nineteen-year-old, Kimberly Kirch disproves that theory. Especially after taking first place at the 17th Annual WWA Wakeboard World Championships in Orlando, Florida today, August 21.

โ€œKim landed every trick, all eight of them today. She nailed it. She was definitely at the top of her game,โ€ said coach, Allison Blaha.

At just 15 years-old Kirch began her wakeboarding career at Mission Bay. She took first place in the Canyon Lake Wakeboard Series soon after in 2008. Getting the taste of a win, only made Kirch want moreโ€”and thatโ€™s exactly what she got.

Kirch now volunteers for Mahfia.com and works as a wakeboard instructor at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. She is determined to get more girls into this guy-dominated sport and judging from her consecutive championships, we wouldnโ€™t put such an accomplishment past her.
