Big Second Half Fuels USD to Victory

Behind a huge second half effort from freshman pint guard Dominique Conners and senior center Amber Sprague, the University of San Diego women's basketball team overcame a half-time deficit to win its West Coast Conference opener over the University of San Francisco, 69-61, Thursday evening at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

With the win, the Toreros improve to 10-5 overall, move to 1-0 in the WCC and increase their winning streak to four.

The Toreros will return to action on Saturday as they host Santa Clara University in a 2 p.m. game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
