Thursday is officially "Red and Black Day" in honor of Aztec basketball.
The San Diego State University men's basketball team takes on Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament starting 6:45 p.m. Thursday and San Diego's mayor is calling on everyone to show their support.
“With about 100,000 SDSU alumni in San Diego, seeing our teams in the national tournament is a huge source of local pride,” Sanders said in a city news release. “We want the teams to know that all of San Diego is rooting them on to victory.”
Not to be forgotten - the SDSU women's basketball team is also competing in the NCAA Tourney on Sunday. They'll play against the University of Texas Longhorns at 4 p.m. in Austin, TX.
