Gulls Offense Erupts Again in Win Over Reign

San Diego gets six more goals to beat Ontario

The Gulls are not going to score nine goals every game like they did on Wednesday night against San Jose.

But that doesn't mean they're not going to try.

San Diego's offense went bonkers again in a 6-2 win over the Reign in Ontario on Friday night. Defenseman Chris Wideman had two goals, both on the power play, and an assist as the Gulls got off 55 shots against a pair of Reign goalies. But San Diego didn't need a man advantage to put the puck in the net.

Captain Sam Carrick scored a shorthanded goal, his 8th of the year and so far it looks like the Gulls will go as Carrick goes. The captain did not score a goal in the first six games of the year and San Diego went 0-6. Since then he's netted eight goals in seven games with San Diego winning six of them.

The Gulls and Reign play again Saturday night at Pechanga Arena in what should be another packed house because ... it's Star Wars Night.
