Chargers RB Tomlinson out against Steelers

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - San Diego Chargersrunning back LaDainian Tomlinson, who sat out the entire second half of the team's wild card win over the Colts with a groin injury, is inactive for Sunday's AFC Divisional game against the Steelers.

Chargers head coach Norv Turner stated earlier in the week that it was obvious to the coaching staff that Tomlinson could not play the way he usually does due to the injury. He recorded just 25 yards on five rushes with a touchdown in the win over Indianapolis.

Darren Sproles is slated to step into Tomlinson's spot.

Tight end Antonio Gates (ankle) is active for the game, as is kicker Nate Kaeding, who missed practice on Thursday and Friday with a sprained ankle suffered in Wednesday's practice.
