4 Dead After Plane Crashes Near New Mexico Fairground

All four people aboard a small plane were killed Wednesday night when the twin-engine craft crashed shortly after takeoff near the Southern New Mexico Fair Grounds in Las Cruces, state police said. The plane, a twin-engine fixed-winged aircraft flying from Las Cruces to Phoenix, was fully engulfed in flames after it crashed about a mile south of Interstate 10, state police said. There were no immediate reports of injuries on the ground in the crash.
