Fewer Californians will be traveling this Thanksgiving, according to AAA.
More than five million Californians plan to hit the road this holiday weekend. That's down 4 percent from last year.
Meanwhile, more than 500,000 Californians will fly to their destinations.
The average family is expected to spend around $700 over the holiday weekend.
AAA said unemployment and high travel costs are causing more Californians to stay home this holiday.
