Prosecutors: Man Who Killed Girlfriend Caught Trying to Dispose of Body

Chicago police stumbled upon a homicide scene after a chance encounter with a woman's alleged killer on an elevator ride up to the victim's Northwest Side apartment to tell her that her stolen vehicle had been found, prosecutors said Friday. Robert Hill put his hand over Sandra Fellows’ nose and mouth to prevent her from breathing then poured water on Fellows face, forcefully took out her dentures to stop her from biting, and smothered her to death. After killing his girlfriend, Hill stole her car and drove to his mother’s house before returning the next day to allegedly dispose of her body, the prosecutor said. Hill was charged with first-degree murder and is being held on $3 million bond.
