California Highway Patrol officials said a high wind advisory was in effect Saturday afternoon for big rigs traveling across the Coronado Bridge.
The advisory began around noon and lasted through 2 p.m., CHP said.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for San Diego County coastal areas, mountains and deserts, as well as other Southern California regions.
The NWS expects strong, gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts through 6 p.m. Temperatures are also expected to drop, with a βFreeze Watchβ in effect for the high deserts.
Patchy frost is also likely in the coldest inland valleys, according to the NWS. Gusty offshore winds through the mountains are likely to pass into inland valleys Sunday and Monday.
