A man, believed to be armed with a weapon, barricaded himself inside an apartment in Fallbrook Monday leading to a SWAT standoff, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department (SDSO) confirmed.
The apartment complex on the 900 block of Alturas Road near W Fallbrook Street was evacuated.
Joshua Villegas, 22, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.
When detectives contacted Villegas just after 3 p.m. Monday, Villegas barricaded himself in an apartment. Villegas surrendered peacefully three hours later.
The Sheriff's Helicopter ASTREA, Fugitive Task Force (FTF) and SWAT were involved in the standoff.
Deputies said Villegas was slated to be booked into the county jail on $200,000 bail.
