The San Diego Police Department launched a homicide investigation Wednesday evening after a man in his 60s was found dead inside a home.
A witness reported they found the man dead at around 6:45 p.m. at a home on 8th Avenue south of Robinson Avenue, according to SDPD Sgt. Clint Leisz.
The body showed signs of trauma and the circumstances were considered suspicious, according to SDPD Lt. Jud Campbell. A homicide investigation was launched.

SDPD said they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and very little is known, including leads on a potential suspect. Detectives remained on scene Thursday morning to find evidence and potential witnesses.
The man's identity was known but was being withheld, police said.
