A woman who last reported for duty in 1999 was taken into custody over the weekend, according to a published report.
Giselle Flynn, 37, opted to stay home to care for her family, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. She was arrested in the early hours of Sunday in her home in El Cajon, the paper reported.
"They came to the house, knocked on the door and took me away in handcuffs," Flynn told the paper.
Flynn's son was recovering from pneumonia and anemia when she went AWOL, the paper reported.
Flynn is being held without bail, according to the Union-Tribune.
