Phoenix-based swimming pool supply retailer Leslie’s Poolmart Inc. is scheduled to open its 11th San Diego County store May 3 in Oceanside. The store is planned for a site at 815 College Blvd., in the plaza anchored by Walmart.

A company statement said Leslie’s, founded in 1963, has 48 stores scheduled to open nationwide during spring 2013, which will bring its total to more than 800 in 35 states. The company employs 3,500 nationally during peak pool season.

The company sells pool supplies and related products through its stores, mail-order catalog and website. Leslie’s recently acquired 24 Warehouse Pool Supply stores in the Houston area for an undisclosed price.
