A man was struck and injured after getting out of his car on southbound Interstate 805 just north of Telegraph Canyon Road.
The California Highway Patrol and Chula Vista Fire Department were called to the scene at 5:12 a.m.
A woman told CHP that her boyfriend got out of the car after a collision with a big rig and then was struck by another vehicle.
The woman was riding in a blue Dodge pickup when it collided with the big rig.
A man got out of the Dodge and walked across the freeway.
At that point, another pickup struck the man and injured his leg.
The victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center. No other information was immediately available.

One lane was closed to traffic until approximately 6 a.m.
