A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista Friday died hours later at the hospital, according to the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD).
Police say a 62-year-old male was hit at around 5:20 p.m. by a car traveling southbound on the 300 block of Fourth Avenue.
The victim was taken to UCSD Hospital where he was treated for critical internal injuries, but ultimately died from his injuries, CVPD confirmed.
The driver remained at the scene following the collision and was cooperative with authorities. CVPD said that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
The CVPD Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
