The food truck ban has been lifted in Oceanside and Ale Works will be celebrating with the first Annual Food Truck Cook-Off.
Oceanside has had a ban on food trucks for as long as event organizer, Mark Purciel, can remember, he said.
Whereas trucks were allowed to sell pre-packaged food, as of Feb. 4, trucks can now sell gourmet food after the Oceanside City Council lifted the ban.
Saturdayβs food truck gathering will take in the back lot of Oceanside Ale Works, Purcielβs brewery house, which is located at 1800 Ord Way from noon until 7 p.m.
Purciel said the event is meant to help restaurant owners promote their businesses with mobile food trucks and about 400 people are expected to show up.
