Firefighters rushed to extinguish several spot fires along northbound State Route 125 early Monday.
Heartland Fire crews handled as many as 10 to 12 small spot fires between the Interstate 8 and State Route 94 just before 5 a.m.
One fire was only 15 feet in diameter while another burned approximately 100 square feet in the area, officials said.
It took crews about 20 minutes to put out the fires. Crews stayed in the area to mop up the area an watch for any flare ups.
