Girl Kicks, Screams, Escapes Kidnapping: Police

A 10-year-old girl fought off a man who grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her towards his car in City Heights, according to police.

The girl was walking in an alley on 46th Street at 8.31 a.m. Wednesday when a man in his 50s, driving a white four door car, asked her if she wanted a ride, police said.

“She refused and kept walking,” said Sgt. Ray Battrick.

The man allegedly got out and grabbed her from behind, pulling her towards his car.

“She screamed and kicked him,” said Sgt. Battrick. “She got away and ran to Euclid Elementary School.”

The girl was not injured.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build, wearing a blue baseball cap, light blue windbreaker, and light brown pants.
