County Gas Prices Creep Up

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose today for the second consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.764 after falling 60 times in the previous 63 days.

The back-to-back increases are the first since an eight-day streak April 29-May 6.

The average price is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 17.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 64.4 more than one year ago, according  to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose seven-tenths of a cent Saturday. The price had fallen to its lowest level since Feb. 27 on Friday when it declined two-tenths of a cent.

The Associated Press reports that nation wide the price of a gallon has dropped one penny over the past two weeks.
