An accident in Carlsbad caused traffic problems during Tuesday’s evening commute.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. on eastbound State Route 78 at El Camino Real.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman with three young girls in the car swerved to avoid something and ran off the road. The car went through a fence and hit a power pole.
Officials said the children weren’t hurt in the accident. The 35-year-old driver was taken to the hospital, but her injuries weren’t serious, according to CHP.
The El Camino Real on-ramp to EB SR-78 is expected to be closed until 2 a.m. Wednesday while crews make repairs.
