Aztecs Get Road Win vs. Spartans

SDSU finally wins a conference game away from Viejas Arena

The Aztecs pulled off a couple of season firsts when they beat San Jose State 67-56 in the Bay Area on Saturday night.

They won their first Mountain West Conference road game and put together their first 3-game winning streak of the year. Sure, it wasn’t the dominant performance they would have liked against a Spartans team that’s now 3-18, but it’s a whole lot better than the Aztecs have been playing away from Viejas Arena.

Guard Devin Watson was a beast. Watson had a game-high 27 points to go with six assists. Forward Jalen McDaniels added 22 points and nine rebounds so he and Watson nearly outscored SJSU by themselves.

SDSU moves to 5-3 in conference play. They have another road game on Tuesday at The Pit against New Mexico.
