Fire damaged at least one unit in an El Cajon apartment complex Thursday.
Heartland Fire and Rescue units along with San Miguel and Lakeside firefighters were called to the complex at 291 Jamacha Road, near Lexington Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
Heavy smoke and fire were coming from a second-story unit. Crews had the fire knocked down in less than 10 minutes.
Some water damage was done to the unit below the one damaged by fire.
Four adults and four children from two units were displaced, according to fire officials.
Investigators have not released details on what caused the fire.
No one was injured.
