Amber Alert Issued for Toddler With Burns

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 23-month-old burn victim possibly being taken to Mexico by his parents.

“Emanuel is considered endangered because he requires medical care for severe burns he suffered in April,” Sgt. Steve Noblitt said.

The El Paso County Department of Human Services has a court order to take protective custody of Emanuel.

Police are looking for his parents, Carmen Aguilera and Benito Guzman.

  • 23-month-old Emanuel is approximately 2 feet tall, 30 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  He has injuries on both hands.
  • Benito Guzman, 29, is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. 
  • Carmen Aguilera, 30, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. 

Aguilera and Guzman may be driving in a 2004 Ford pick-up, tan in color with Colorado license plate 491SKZ or a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, brown in color with Colorado license plate 781SLH.
