A water main break in Escondido caused flooding and road closures Thursday, CHP officials confirmed.
The break happened around 4:40 p.m. at El dorado Drive and Country Lane.
Due to flooding of the roadways, CHP officials issued a Sig Alert around 5:45 p.m. at El Dorado Dr. between Juniper Street and Encino Drive.
Authorities said commuters should expect a long-term closure of that area as authorities contain the large amount of water on the roadways.
On Friday morning the San Diego Department of Public Works announced that Eldorado Drive from Encino Drive to Country Lane would remain closed for the rest of the day as authorities continue to make permanent repairs to the water line and road damaged by Thursday’s water main break.
