Victim Extracted From Car Trapped in Ravine off State Route 163

Crews extracted one patient from a car trapped in a ravine overnight, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The crash happened at 3:22 a.m. Sunday morning on State Route 163 southbound, north of 4th Avenue, CHP officials said.

Many firefighters worked to curl back the roof of the car and extract the victim. The person was lifted out of the ravine and onto the roadway, where he was then taken to a local hospital.

It is unclear how badly the person was injured and how many people were in the car.

One person was arrested, CHP officials said, though it is unclear who the person was and what they were arrested for.

No further information was immediately available.
