Tommy Hilfiger Opening Store at Fashion Valley

Designer clothing retailer Tommy Hilfiger Group is scheduled to open a new Tommy Hilfiger store at Fashion Valley mall in Mission Valley on June 1.

A statement from the New York-based company said the 8,500-square-foot store will be on the mall’s second-floor veranda, designed with a sunlit glass façade and a central skylight drawing natural light into the space. The interior décor will include nostalgia-oriented custom art pieces and graphic prints, with an image of a 1964 Volkswagen Bug featured prominently.

The San Diego opening follows the debut of the brand’s West Hollywood flagship location earlier this year. The new local store will have surf-inspired men’s and women’s sportswear collections, among other clothing and accessory items for men, women and children.

Company founder Tommy Hilfiger said in the statement that the San Diego location captures the “preppy, nautically inspired” heritage of the company brand. “The city really embraces the relaxed vibe, youthful spirit and irreverent attitude at the foundation of our brand philosophy,” Hilfiger said.

The local opening will coincide with a fund-raising event supporting the Autism Society of San Diego’s annual Surf Camp program, among activities being organized by the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation.

Tommy Hilfiger Group is part of PVH Corp. and operates more than 1,200 stores in more than 90 countries, including outlet stores in San Ysidro and Alpine. Its products are also sold at several local Macy’s locations.
