Tesla Crashes Into Prisoner Transport Bus Downtown

A Tesla crashed into a Sheriff's Department prisoner transport bus in Downtown San Diego Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Avenue and A Street.

The Tesla had minor damage to its front bumper, fender and wheel on its passenger side, and its passenger-side mirror was destroyed but still attached.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said there were 12 female prisoners and two deputies on the bus headed from the courthouse to Las Colinas Detention Facility. No injuries were reported.

All lanes of 6th Avenue were reopened shortly after the crash.
