Man Injured in Ocean Beach Stabbing

A man is seriously injured in a stabbing outside a bar at Newport Avenue and Bacon Street

San Diego police are investigating a brutal stabbing that left a man unconscious with his intestines exposed in an Ocean Beach alley.

Witnesses tell SDPD that a man wielding a knife was threatening to stab people after he was kicked out of a bar Monday night.

Around 10:30 p.m. officers arrived to the area near Newport Avenue and Bacon Street, but did not find the man with the knife.

Instead, officers found a victim described as a man in his 30s.

He was on the ground between the Arizona Club and Winstons suffering from severe stab wounds in the stomach.

Police are not certain if the two reports---one of the knife-wielding man and the subsequent victim---are linked.

They are viewing surveillance footage from several nearby businesses to help in the investigation.

The victim is expected to survive after being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
