Mission Valley Fire Station Holds Open House

The new Mission Valley Fire Station 45 held an open house Saturday. The event included tours, CPR training and children’s activities.

The station is the first to be built in District 7 in over 20 years, and is also the first permanent fire station on Mission Valley.

There was a temporary fire station nearby, but the fire chief said the new station has improved response times since then.

"Having a full blown fire station here with an engine and truck company here has really reduced response times in this area," Chief Brian Fennessy told NBC 7. "We're just so happy to have the folks out here.

Councilmember Scott Sherman teamed up with San Diego Fire-Rescue for the event.
