Marine Named Suspect in Sex Attacks

Man being held on $170K bail

Police announced the arrest of a Marine accused of multiple attacks on female joggers and walkers in the North County.

Oceanside police said Adam Lablance, 23, of Vista, was taken into custody Tuesday on sexual battery charges.

In late August, authorities received 11 reports of a man approaching women in Oceanside and Vista and touching them in a sexual manner.  On several occasions, the women were lured to the man's car, when he asked for directions.  The victims reported the man was masturbating.

On Tuesday afternoon, police stopped a car that matched the description provided by victims.  Lablance was arrested and charged with one count of false imprisonment, six counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent exposure and two counts of annoying a child under the age of 18. He's being held on $170,000 bail.

Police said there may be additional victims.  Anyone with information is asked to call Oceanside police at 760-435-4555.
