A Goodwill in Lemon Grove was evacuated Saturday morning around 11 a.m. when a practice grenade found at the back of the store was confused with a real grenade.
Practice grenades, which are non-explosive, are basically decorations. They also have a hole in the bottom.
Nearby streets were also closed off temporarily while the SDSO Bomb and Arson Unit investigated.
Eventually, the scene cleared and the Goodwill opened back up as usual.
