Hitting the Highways

You can expect to see local highways busier than normal Sunday as many travelers return home from Thanksgiving trips.

There are already some sobering numbers to report.  There have been more fatal accidents for this 2008 holiday weekend than in the entire 2007 four day holiday.

According to CHP, five people died on Southern California freeways during the first 60 hours of the 2008 four day weekend compared to four fatalities for the entire 2007 holiday weekend.

Statewide there have been 21 traffic deaths. 199 people have been arrested for driving under the influence compared to 232 for the same time period in 2007.
