Camp Pendleton closed its main gate at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after a driver was “acting erratically,” according to a representative from the base.
Military security personnel then detained the driver to inspect the car.
The entrance, located on Vandegrift Boulevard, didn’t allow traffic in or out of the area, said Camp Pendleton authorities. Officials created a temporary detour in the meantime.
Two hours later, security reopened the gate.
The driver was questioned by the Camp Pendleton Police Department.
