Sounds Like San Diego: April 30

The Wedding Present bring 30 years of indie rock to the Casbah

I told you it was going to be a great Saturday, and Sunday should offer more of the same -- sunny skies, a cool San Diego breeze and the smells of street food vendors as you wander your way through ArtWalk Little Italy or the Encinitas Street Fair. By night, you've got some great live music options, including the Wedding Present at the Casbah. With a career spanning three decades, the Leeds-based band were indie rock before it was a thing, and they are still pushing the boundaries all these years later. Get there early for Colleen Green Band, with the promise that she'll have an actual band backing up her sweet vocals and shredding guitar. At Sycamore Den, catch Jesse LaMonaca in a somewhat rare performance, check out the Shivas -- another Burger Records band -- at Blonde, or head to Soda Bar to catch the Walters, who describe themselves as "five hunks from Chicago." Me-owww.
