Sounds Like San Diego: Dec. 7

Wavves, Pale Waves, Mainsail and others muddy the live-music waters in SD Friday

I think we got all that rain out of our system, at least for a couple days, so this weekend will offer no obstacles to a good time. Of course, December Nights kicks off at Balboa Park, so whether you're going to enjoy the festivities or just try to get around them, give yourself extra time to account for traffic and parking. I think you'd be wise instead to head to the Irenic, where Pale Waves play an all-ages show. The band killed it at SOMA last time they played and you don't want to miss them. They're not the only show, of course, so you might consider the Beach Fossils and Wavves tour passing through House of Blues for the first of two nights, the Ataris playing an intimate show at the Casbah, or Black Crowes alum Chris Robinson playing the Observatory North Park with his band. It's a super night of music and it's gonna be tons of fun, but maybe tonight is the night to hail a rideshare or call a cab and circumvent that parking and traffic headache.
