Junior Seau is apparently looking for his doctorate. You may recall his famous "I'm not retiring, I'm graduating" speech from a few years ago. His graduation lasted about as long as Magic Johnson's talk show, as he soon joined the New England Patriots.
Now the 39-year-old Seau has turned in his surfboard for snow gloves. He re-signed with the Pats on Friday. New England head coach Bill Belichick was uncharacteristically giddy to have Junior back. "You look up football player in the dictionary and you see Junior Seau," he said. In fact, Belichick was a big reason Seau decided to return
"What it took," Junior said, "was a coach that you respect made a call to you to come out and help guys that you have a lot of love for."
There are only 4 games left in the regular season, and the Patriots are fighting for a playoff spot. Seau said he's not in football shape yet, but will help out wherever he can.
